Weatherboard bungalow facelift
At first glance, this weatherboard bungalow's northern face was clearly weathered by decades of harsh Australian sun. The timber windows were in disrepair, and the door and cladding had severely deteriorated. We carefully removed the damaged weatherboards and reframed sections of the wall as needed to accommodate salvaged second-hand windows and a new front door. Fresh weatherboards were installed, and we added a small verandah for character and protection. A polycarbonate roof was chosen to block harmful UV rays and shield the materials from rain, while still allowing natural light to brighten the space.
